These images were made during a commission for The National Trust for Scotland. The project explores the intangible heritage of illicit whisky distilling in Scotland during the 1800's.
I was commissioned to respond to the project, working on site with archeologists. These images are made at Still Sites in Torridon, Ben Lomond and Mar Lodge estate.
The photographs were made into newspapers, each one representing a specific Still Site. The newspapers were then displayed on a newspaper stand, for audiences to engage with, referencing ideas of archive and heritage.
I made a black and white photographic developer made from whisky, water from the still sites, effervescent and ascorbic acid and developed and print these images, which are displayed alongside side the developer.
