Environmental Art Commission - National Trust for Scotland

Working with Archeologists from The National Trust for Scotland, to explore and research the intanglible heritage of illicit whisky trading in Scotland which took place during the 1800's.

I visited a number of Still Sites in Torridon and Mar Ldoge and created three pieces of sculptural works in response to the brief.

I made a series of newspapers, each one references a Still Site. Ideas of archiving, research and news helped inform this piece of work, which invites the viewer to interact with the work. Participants were invited to browse the newspapers, to discover elemental details of each still site, the surroundings and the spirit of the place.

I made a photographic darkroom developer using whisky as part of the project, and used this to print a number of one off Black and White images of the Still Sites.
